Description

Most anti-dandruff shampoos clear the flakes you can see and stop there. Nizoral works differently. Its active ingredient, 2% ketoconazole, is an antifungal that targets Malassezia, the naturally occurring scalp fungus that, when it overgrows, drives the flaking, itching and redness of dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis. Treat the cause and the symptoms settle.

This is a medicated treatment rather than an everyday shampoo, and it's used differently: twice a week, not daily. It's gentle enough for long-term use and safe on colour-treated, chemically processed and grey hair, and in a multicentre clinical trial close to nine in ten users responded.

How often should I use Nizoral 2%?
For active dandruff, use it twice a week for two to four weeks, then once a week or every two weeks to keep flakes from returning. Wet the hair, work a little into the scalp, leave for three to five minutes, then rinse.

Can I use Nizoral every day?
No, it's a twice-weekly medicated treatment, not a daily shampoo. For everyday washing once your dandruff is under control, use Nizoral Daily Care Shampoo instead.

What's the difference between Nizoral 2% and Nizoral Daily Care?
The 2% shampoo is the medicated treatment with ketoconazole that targets the fungus at the root of dandruff. Daily Care is a non-medicated shampoo for regular washing and maintenance between treatments.

Is Nizoral good for hair loss?
It's a dandruff treatment, not a hair-loss treatment. For hair loss, speak to a pharmacist or doctor.

Can I use it on colour-treated hair?
Yes, it's safe for colour-treated, chemically processed and grey hair.
