Description

IRONMAX delivers 30mg of elemental iron in microencapsulated form, meaning each iron particle carries a protective coating rather than dissolving directly in the stomach. The coating is designed to reduce the gastric irritation, constipation and nausea that commonly cause people to stop taking iron supplements. Microencapsulation also improves stability against heat, humidity and light.

Quatrefolic is a fourth-generation folate supplied as 5-MTHF, the form the body uses directly. Standard folic acid requires enzymatic conversion before the body can use it, whereas 5-MTHF does not. Folate contributes to normal blood formation and to normal maternal tissue growth during pregnancy.

Vitamin C increases the absorption of iron from the digestive tract, which is why the two are formulated together in IRONMAX. Combining both in a single capsule removes the need to take and time two separate products.

Vitamin B6 and vitamin B12 both contribute to normal red blood cell formation. Vitamin B12 also contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system, and vitamin B6 contributes to normal protein metabolism. Iron, folate, B6 and B12 together contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and to normal immune system function.

IRONMAX is formulated for people with higher iron requirements, including pregnant and breastfeeding women, adolescents, vegetarians and vegans, and older adults. Anyone diagnosed with iron deficiency or anaemia should follow their doctor's advice on dose and duration.

How to use

• Take one capsule daily. Swallow whole with cold or room-temperature water, with or after a main meal. Do not chew, crush or open the capsule.
• IRONMAX can be started at any point during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or whenever iron supplementation is required. It already contains folate, vitamin C, B6 and B12, so speak to your doctor before adding a separate folate or B-complex supplement.
• Keep out of reach of children. Iron supplements can be harmful in overdose.
