Description

Most children's cold remedies tackle one symptom. Fludrex Syrup works on several at once, which is why it's a common choice when a child has a full cold or flu rather than a single complaint. Each 5ml dose pairs three active ingredients: paracetamol eases aches and lowers a fever, pseudoephedrine clears a blocked nose, and chlorpheniramine - an antihistamine - calms sneezing and a runny nose.

What is Fludrex Syrup used for?
Fludrex Syrup relieves the symptoms of a cold or flu in children: fever, headache, body aches, nasal congestion, a runny nose and sneezing. It keeps a child comfortable while the illness passes, it eases symptoms rather than curing the cold or flu itself.

Is Fludrex Syrup safe for children, and what is the dose?
Yes, for children aged 6 to 12, the dose is 10ml (two teaspoons) three times a day, or as directed by a doctor. Shake well before use and don't exceed the stated dose.

Can I give Fludrex Syrup to a child under 6, or a 2- or 3-year-old?
No. Fludrex Syrup is not recommended for children under 6. For a younger child, speak to your doctor or one of our pharmacists, who can recommend a suitable age-appropriate option.

Can adults take Fludrex Syrup?
The syrup is formulated for children. Adults are usually better suited to Fludrex tablets, ask our pharmacist if you're unsure which is right for you.

Does Fludrex Syrup help a cough?
It can ease cold-related symptoms like congestion and a runny nose, but it isn't a dedicated cough medicine. For a persistent or chesty cough, speak to a pharmacist.

Panadol or Fludrex, what's the difference?
Panadol contains paracetamol alone, for pain and fever. Fludrex combines paracetamol with a decongestant and an antihistamine, so it also tackles congestion and sneezing, useful when a cold brings more than just a temperature.

Because Fludrex contains paracetamol, don't give other paracetamol medicines at the same time. It may cause mild drowsiness. Store below 25°C, away from light, and out of reach of children.
